Some impromptu family photos of Chris and Julie tickling Kai outside the pig pen. This place inspires beautiful memories on a daily basis. xo
Kiwi Trellis
A few weeks ago my friend Pete, brother in law Matt, and I built a trellis with the leftover yellow cedar from the raised beds. I’d been meaning to do it for a while (just like I’ve been meaning to write this blog post since then) but other maintenence projects kept taking priority. Pete and his family came over to visit us (and the rabbits) and he offered to bring some tools to help with whatever needed doing around here. So, thanks Pete and Matt! This would have been on the backburner for a long time if you hadn’t given up your sunny Sunday!
We have a small Kiwi vine planted which, if it survives, should completely cover the trellis in a few years. Next I am planning on building a “feasting table” under the trellis so we can enjoy our garden produce in the garden.

Chris discovers some pea nitrogen nodules during our evening of weeding this week. A very geeky video capture at the end of a long day :)
