gifted a trailer!

This long weekend has been B U S Y.  Too busy to blog – until now.  Figured I’d work my way backwards through the weekend in an attempt to try to remember everything…

We had a delivery this afternoon that’s pretty sweet.  My sister’s colleague Thea, her husband Peter and their sons Noah and Lucas came by today to give us a trailer!  They’ve been looking for another home for their trailer for awhile and when they heard about our farm venture through my sister, they thought they’d donate it towards our efforts here at the farm.

The plywood siding needs replacing but the frame is solid.  It’ll be great to have around here to help us haul things.  I’m thinking we should replace the plywood and paint it bright red or something, so that even when it’s not in use, it will make a cheery addition to the place.

Thanks so much Thea, Peter, Noah and Lucas!  Come back again to visit anytime!

passed!

My truck passed Air Care today – yay!!!

When I drove it home and parked it beside my motorhome and stood back and looked at the two of them, I was struck by the fact that I now own TWO vehicles – and a truck and an RV at that! This time last year, I had just given my notice at work, sold my only form of transportation – my bicycle, and was packing up my Ottawa life to move back to Vancouver. I would have never guessed that within a year’s time I’d be living with my best friends in Maple Ridge, be the owner of two vehicles (one of which doubles as my home), and about to take on a farming adventure. Wow. Totally love it.

PS – And ladies, if you’re feeling the need for a little attention, apparently throwing on some aviators and driving (slowly) around Maple Ridge in a beat up truck is the way to do it. I don’t remember the last time I got checked out by so many different men! Either guys dig girls in work trucks or everyone was trying to will me to drive faster with their eyes. Uh huh, that’s right – I’m a truck girl now.
