So, my parent’s came out to the farm a couple days ago and my dad built my bedframe into the trailer. So exciting! We decided to build my bed up at the front of the trailer in order to keep the back as the sitting/ eating area. We removed the driver’s seat (the passenger seat was gone before I got the trailer), and my dad built a platform for my mattress up on the elevated driving area. It’s not quite done yet – it needs some more wood slats put in, but you’ll get the idea from the photos. We’re going to add foam at the foot of the mattress and to the side to make it a bit bigger and to fill out the space. I’m downsizing from a queen mattress to a twin so I’m taking every little bit of extra that I can.
There’s room for storage space underneath the bed and the dashboard will become a kind of ‘trailer chic’ bedside table. Oh – and we can’t take the steering wheel out (at least not very easily), so that will also be a fun little piece of built-in trailer decor too. So funny.
Now that the bedframe is mostly in, it’s a lot easier for me to visualize the whole front area. Can’t wait for the decorating part!
Looks great! Good to see your father helping out, too. Although, I do think you need some curtains…
